My Christmas

Christmas-collageI might be a bit late with this post, but I couldn’t keep myself from writing it. These holidays I had the time to think a lot about my life. I considered the good and the bad. What I’d love to stay in it, and what I’d gladly let go of. Most of all, however, I realized, that among all the negativity, pain, suffering, hatred and torment surrounding us right now, I am truly blessed. That’s why I’d like to take the time to try and express my gratitude to the people around me.

I’d like to thank my family and friends for being always there for me, for giving me the right example and for letting me make mistakes and learn lessons on my own, for being proud with the little I’ve accomplished and for making me feel loved and appreciated.

I’d like to thank Georgi, for being my soulmate, for pushing me to be better, for making my dreams come true and daring me to dream even bigger and bolder, for showing me who I am and what I’m capable of, for just being there – in good or bad and for loving me, through all. I love you, sweetheart!

I’d like to thank Milena, for being my best friend all these years, for being my biggest fan and for supporting all my weird ideas and hobbies. I love you so much!

Last but not least I’d also like to take the time to thank all my readers for spending a few moments of their time on my little blog. This means the world to me. I hope these little glimpses into my everyday life have been inspiring and interesting!

I’m sharing a few moments of my Christmas with you, the way I shared them with my close ones. Also, because I love reading “What I’ve got for Christmas” posts, I’m sharing all the gifts that my friends and family spoiled me with this year.

May the next year bring peace, love and happiness to you, your friends and family, and the entire world. Merry (belated) Christmas and Happy New Year!

My holiday & a short update

Ooops, I did it again! (to be read with Children of Bodom cover version voice and not Britney’s overly sugared timbre) – I’ve been gone for a good few months. TL;DR: exams, vacation and more exams. As for anyone up for the longer version and a piece of the beauty that is my homeland, please read ahead.

I will not go into much detail about my university life, but I’ll say that I’m now officially a bachelor in Computer Sciences. I’ve applied for a few masters programs and I’m waiting for the results. Keep your fingers crossed! I plan a more lengthy update post soon. Also, stay tuned for my next blog post, as I have someone I want you to meet. :)

As for today I will share with you a few glimpses of my summer holiday here in the beautiful Bulgaria.

I was to spend one week with my mom and dad and one week with my friends and beloved Georgi. Me and my parents were staying in Chernomorets. The first day was lovely – warm sand, warm water, gorgeous blue sea. Until we went back to the hotel, I had kidney crisis, got admitted to the hospital and spend the rest of the week either there or running around getting tested. Yay! When we got home to Sofia I was on the fence about leaving with my boyfriend for another week (especially when it turned out I’ve been treated for the wrong thing in the hospital all along and was still not well), but the doctor (thank God I’ve found him) sent me a way with a bag full of antibiotics and pain killers. So the second half of my holiday was spend enjoying myself, hurting, drinking what seemed like an ocean of water and being cut off the necessities – coffee and green tea. You know what – it was one of the best holidays of my life!

We actually spent two more days in Ravda last month, because we attended Summer Chaos Festival and saw the Prodigy and Bullet for my Valentine live.

Homemade lemonade on the beach // The wonderful “Gradina” beach (We spent most of our time on the beaches south of Bourgas – Smokinya, Kavaci and Gradina) // The beach bag essentials and me

The goofs. :)

A wonderful sea food restaurant we had dinner in. The place is called “Dalyana” and is just outside of Otmanli. The view is stunning!

Veleka beach, Sinemorets.

A cute little buddy which came to snuggle and delicious homemade elderflower lemonade.

The place where Veleka river flows into the Black sea.

My new favourite place on the earth.

On the last day we went to Rezovo and the most south-eastern point of the European Union.

If you ever happen to go there, make sure to pass through the village and stop for a pancake. They are amazing!

We spent another extended weekend in Ravda for Summer Chaos Festival 2016 and stopped by Nesebar for lunch and a short walk.

This & that #2

The few weeks after my previous post in that topic have been pretty eventful. So much happened (good and bad), that I’m having a hard time remembering it all. Also, believe it or not – it’s June already. Half of 2016 is gone. I feel like I have so much to do! Here’s what has been on my mind lately:

  • I started the “100 days of productivity” challenge. I’m working on a series of posts explaining it and tracking my progress here on the blog, but you can also see how I’m doing daily on my Snapchat or my tumblr.
  • I’ve invested in a softbox, reflectors and tri-pod for my camera. I’m not sure how much of a difference you can see in my pictures (my last post was made using them), but let me tell you – it is SO MUCH easier to take pictures now!  I don’t know why I waited so long to get a tri-pod. I’m never parting with it!
  • I’ve been reading the “Chicken soup for the soul” series a lot lately. Although it is not recommended to read a whole book of the series at once (on the contrary – you should go back to it when you need it) I somehow managed to finish almost two of them pretty fast(and cry a lot in the process). I highly recommend these books. They are inspiring, motivational and bring a lot of hope into your life.
  • I’ve been meaning to try yoga for a while. I knew that there are classes at my workplace, but I never found the courage to visit one of them (I’m too shy). Thankfully, last month there was a free demonstration for newbies like me and finally I gave it a try. It was wonderful! I’ve been going to morning practices, twice a week, ever since.
  • I went of a 10 day holiday in Italy! It was amazing – I have so much to share and tell! I’ll probably do 2 or 3 posts about it. All I can say now is: I definitely plan to go back.
  • I’ve wanted the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palettes for a while (the original & Semi-Sweet), but the price has always stopped me. That is until I saw Sweet Peach. I went straight to Sephora, but it wasn’t available yet so I got the Semi Sweet instead and decided to wait until it comes out. Then I went to Italy, saw it in Florence and could not stop myself. However at this point I already wanted the original and the Chocolate Bon Bons too (because I’ve already swatched and seen them a couple of times), so I got them when I came back. Now I have four gorgeous, lovely smelling, pigmented eyeshadow palettes and a boyfriend who is still debating my sanity. #worthit

What about you? What’s on your mind lately?

This & that #1

I couldn’t quite think of a right name for this series of posts. I settled for “this & that”, because I’ve decided to put into words my colorful and weird daily life and it seemed most fitting to describe the collection of my favorite things, events, places, people and a whole lot of other random thoughts.

Here’s what I’ve had on my mind lately:

  1. I moved in with my boyfriend officially (one thing less in my bucket list for this year). We were lucky and everything happened really fast. Our original plans failed (turns out it was for the better), so we started looking for a place to live as close to our mutual workplace as possible. We found the perfect little apartment on the second day of looking. It’s cozy and bright. Moving was… tough. I had a hard time contemplating just how many belongings two people can have. Of course as a grown, independent adult I called my mom for help and we were able to clean and organize most of the stuff in just two long, exhausting days. We still have work to do – a list of things to buy from IKEA, my pile of books, Georgi’s sports equipment… The important thing, though, is that we’re finally together and we’re happy!
  2. Speaking of the man in my life – he has been on business trips a lot lately. We’ve been hardly in the same time-zone (:/), but we figured out how to share our day with each other – Snapchat stories (plus a whole bunch of messages of course). Fun and easy. BTW, I’ve shared my Snapchat profile in the blog sidebar as well.
  3. I was sick and got a couple of days off work, so I ventured into reading. I’ve added a banner linking to my 2016 Goodreads reading challenge. I’m working on a few book reviews.
  4. I’m training and I’m getting better at it. I can feel the stress of future exams and projects slowly creeping behind the stress of my everyday work and I’m pushing it back with running shoes and music.

What have you been up to lately?
